Planet River Crew on the Move again

I chatted to Rob and Ine yesterday - Planet River - about their recent trip to South Africa to collect more beta and maps for their up and coming Orange River guide book. They had a successful trip and managed to throw in a few days of boating. This past summer the Orange River flooded, causing many river camps, farms, water pump station havoc with the high water levels.

When I joined them down the Augrabies Gorge -December 2009- we spent a morning walking up an dry river bed to find a beautiful green emerald pool with signs of a dry waterfall. Rob and Ine's return visit to the area sparked their interest to see if the dry channel was flowing and what it would look like with water in it, needless to say they got lucky with great water levels and spent a long 12 hours exploring a superb section of whitewater. For a full report and photo's, visit planetriver.com

Here's a video from their trip, Enjoy!

Past Summer sessions

The snow is melting and the rivers are flowing once again. I've been dreaming of boating again without a drytop or wool thermals! Here some pics from last year in the New York area. Looking forward to the summer boating with friends and dogs!

Jess Graham Studio - Art Is Food-

>> Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Seeing great art is inspiring. To everyone I would think? While visiting friends in Waterbury, VT the presence of fun, colourful local art was everywhere. How refreshing!

I noticed a similar style in a few different places around town. Waterburry and Stowe have produced some great artist and is a bustling entrepreneur town, maybe it’s the air up there?

I met Jess Graham in her studio, the artist of the work I had seen around town. Meeting another art monger in her workspace, over a VT brewed beer made for a very fun time. I couldn’t resist and purchased a piece of her work, which is now hung on the wall bringing life and positive energy to the space. Jess sells her art in many different places, even in cyber space through her site. I don’t want to give you a perception of her work so check it out yourself; http://jessgrahamstudio.com/. Or if you’re in VT stop by the studio it’s well worth the visit.
