>> Thursday, April 28, 2011

I had just picked up my FLUID NEMESIS from Syracuse and could not wait to get in it. I headed to Inner City Strife in Watertown, with Alex Barham. The river was rising but the wave was good. The POP you get from that boat is something else! I look forward to the next session there.

Planet River Crew on the Move again

I chatted to Rob and Ine yesterday - Planet River - about their recent trip to South Africa to collect more beta and maps for their up and coming Orange River guide book. They had a successful trip and managed to throw in a few days of boating. This past summer the Orange River flooded, causing many river camps, farms, water pump station havoc with the high water levels.

When I joined them down the Augrabies Gorge -December 2009- we spent a morning walking up an dry river bed to find a beautiful green emerald pool with signs of a dry waterfall. Rob and Ine's return visit to the area sparked their interest to see if the dry channel was flowing and what it would look like with water in it, needless to say they got lucky with great water levels and spent a long 12 hours exploring a superb section of whitewater. For a full report and photo's, visit planetriver.com

Here's a video from their trip, Enjoy!
